✧ The Prophet ﷺ said, "Among the Children of Israel, there was a man called Jurayj who used to worship in a monastery. One day, his mother came to him and called him. He said, 'O Jurayj, what is it? What is more honorable for me to do? Pray or listen to my mother?' He chose to continue with his prayer. She called him again and again, saying the same thing. He kept choosing prayer over his mother. So she said, 'O Allah, do not cause him to die until he sees the life of prostitutes.' She used to take care of sheep for her family and then she would return to her cell in the monastery. She committed adultery and became pregnant. When they asked her, 'Who is responsible for this?' She said it was Jurayj, the owner of the monastery. They brought knives and tools and said, 'O Jurayj, come out, there is a dispute.' He refused to come out and continued with his prayer. So they destroyed the monastery. When Jurayj saw this, he came out and they put a rope around his and the adulterous woman's necks, parading them in front of the people. He placed his finger on her stomach and asked, 'Child, who is your father?' She replied, 'My father is so-and-so, the shepherd.' They kissed him and said, 'If you wish, we will rebuild your monastery with gold and silver.' He said, 'No, rebuild it as it was before.'"
