حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ فِتْيَانِي فَيَجْمَعُوا حَطَبًا، ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ أُخَالِفُ إِلَى رِجَالٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ، وَايْمُ اللهِ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ أَحَدُهُمْ أَنَّ لَهُ بِشُهُودِهَا عَرْقًا سَمِينًا أَوْ مِرْمَاتَيْنِ لَشَهِدَهَا، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهَا لَأَتَوْهَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا

✧ I was about to order my young men to gather firewood, then order a man to lead the people in prayer, then go off to men who stay away from the prayer and burn their houses down upon them. By Allah, if one of them knew that attending it would earn him a fat bone or two sheep's trotters, he would attend it. And if they knew what is in it, they would come to it even crawling.
