حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ أَبُو صَالِحٍ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ نُهَاقَ الْحَمِيرِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ شَيْطَانًا، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ صِيَاحَ الدِّيَكَةِ بِاللَّيْلِ فَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ فَإِنَّهَا رَأَتْ مَلَكًا

✧ When you hear the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge with Allah from their evil, for they have seen a devil. And when you hear the crowing of roosters at night, ask Allah for His bounty, for they have seen an angel.
