حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الرَّاسِبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ

وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَرَاءِ، وَيْلٌ لِلْعُرَفَاءِ، وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَنَاءِ، لَيَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّ ذَوَائِبَهُمْ كَانَتْ مُعَلَّقَةً بِالثُّرَيَّا، يَتَذَبْذَبُونَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ، وَلَمْ يَكُونُوا عَمِلُوا عَلَى شَيْءٍ

Translation

✧ Woe to the rulers, woe to the chiefs, woe to the trustees. Certain people on the Day of Resurrection will wish that their forelocks were suspended from the Pleiades, dangling between the heaven and the earth, and that they had never held any office.
