✧ We went out with Ali against the Kharijites and he killed them. Then he said: Look, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: A people will emerge who speak the truth, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will depart from the truth as an arrow passes through the game. Their sign is that among them is a black man with a deformed arm, in his hand are black hairs. If he is among them, you have killed the worst of people; if he is not, you have killed the best of people. We wept. Then he said: Search. We searched and found the deformed man. We fell in prostration, and Ali fell with us in prostration, except that he said: They speak with the word of truth.
