حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

الْعَيْنُ تَزْنِي، وَالْقَلْبُ يَزْنِي، فَزِنَا الْعَيْنِ النَّظَرُ، وَزِنَا الْقَلْبِ التَّمَنِّي، وَالْفَرْجُ يُصَدِّقُ مَا هُنَالِكَ أَوْ يُكَذِّبُهُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  3. al-Ḥasan
  4. Abū Hurayrah and Lā Aʿlamuh Illā
  5. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ The eye commits adultery, and the heart commits adultery; the adultery of the eye is the gaze, the adultery of the heart is desire, and the private part confirms or denies that.
