وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، قَالُوا: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَاكُمْ مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي، فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ Beware of continuous fasting, beware of continuous fasting. They said: But you fast continuously, O Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: I am not like you in that. I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So undertake of deeds what you have the strength for.
