وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ، لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ. وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ، وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتْبَعُونِي، وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Rasūl Allāh ﷺ
✧ By the One in Whose hand Muhammad’s soul is, were it not that I would make it hard for the believers, I would not stay behind any raiding party that goes out in Allah’s path. But I do not find the means to provide them mounts, and they do not find the means to follow me, and they are not pleased to stay behind after me.
