حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

لَا تُقْبَلُ صَلَاةُ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ. قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ: مَا الْحَدَثُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ قَالَ: فُسَاءٌ أَوْ ضُرَاطٌ

Translation

✧ The prayer of one who has broken his ablution is not accepted until he performs ablution again. A man from Hadramawt said to him: 'What is the breaking of ablution, O Abu Hurayrah?' He said: 'Passing wind, whether with sound or without.'
