حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ، فَإِنْ قِيلَ هَدِيَّةٌ أَكَلَ، وَإِنْ قِيلَ صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ: كُلُوا. وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ
Translation

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ was brought food from someone other than his family, he would ask about it. If it was said to be a gift, he ate; if it was said to be charity, he said: 'Eat,' and he did not eat.
