حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَضْرِبُوا، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: أَنْ يَضْرِبَ النَّاسُ أَكْبَادَ الْإِبِلِ يَطْلُبُونَ الْعِلْمَ، لَا يَجِدُونَ عَالِمًا أَعْلَمَ مِنْ عَالِمِ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Ibn Jurayj
  3. Abū al-Zubayr
  4. Abū Ṣāliḥ
  5. Abū Hurayrah In Shāʾ Allāh
  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ It is near that you will strike - and Sufyan said once: that people will strike the livers of camels seeking knowledge, and they will not find a scholar more knowledgeable than the scholar of the people of Madinah.
