حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ: أَنَا وَمَنْ مَعِي. قَالَ: فَقِيلَ لَهُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ. قِيلَ لَهُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: فَرَفَضَهُمْ
Translation

✧ It was said to the Prophet ﷺ: "O Messenger of Allah, which people are best?" He said: "I and those with me." He said: Then it was said to him: "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Those who follow the trace (the successors)." It was said to him: "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Then he rejected them."
