حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ نَائِمًا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَأَرَادَ الْوُضُوءَ فَلَا يَضَعْ يَدَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يَصُبَّ عَلَى يَدِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ

Translation

✧ When one of you is asleep and then wakes up and wants to perform ablution, he should not put his hand into the vessel until he pours water over his hand, for he does not know where his hand spent the night.
