حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ الزَّرْعِ لَا تَزَالُ الرِّيحُ تُمِيلُهُ، وَلَا يَزَالُ الْمُؤْمِنُ يُصِيبُهُ الْبَلَاءُ. وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ شَجَرَةِ الْأَرْزَةِ لَا تَهْتَزُّ حَتَّى تَسْتَحْصِدَ

Translation

✧ The example of the believer is like a plant; the wind keeps bending it, and the believer keeps being afflicted by trials. The example of the hypocrite is like a cedar tree; it does not shake until it is cut down.
