  • Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī

machine translationHushaym is a well-known man, and the imams wrote down hadith from him. In himself he is acceptable (lā ba'sa bihi), except that he was ascribed to concealment (tadlīs). He has various kinds of narrations, good hadiths and unusual ones (gharā'ib). When he narrates from a trustworthy person, there is no harm in him. Sometimes he is at fault, and some of his hadiths are found to be rejected (munkar) when he committed tadlīs in his narration from someone not trustworthy. But he is acceptable (lā ba'sa bihi), as are his narrations.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 7207

machine translationWe know of no other report from him besides this, and it is rejected (munkar) with this chain.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 7207
