حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو فَقُلْتُ: حَدِّثْنِي مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. يَقُولُ: وَلَا تُحَدِّثْنِي عَنِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ. فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ، وَالْمُهَاجِرُ مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا نَهَى اللهُ عَنْهُ

Translation

✧ I came to Abdullah b. Amr and said: Narrate to me what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but do not narrate to me from the Torah or the Gospel. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, and the emigrant is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.
