قَالَ [عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ] قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي الْخَيَّاطَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ تَحْتِي امْرَأَةٌ كَانَ عُمَرُ يَكْرَهُهَا فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي: طَلِّقْهَا. قُلْتُ: لَا. فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَدَعَانِي فَقَالَ: عَبْدَ اللهِ، طَلِّقِ امْرَأَتَكَ. قَالَ: فَطَلَّقْتُهَا

✧ I had a wife whom Umar disliked, and my father said to me: Divorce her. I said: No. He went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him, and he called me and said: Abdullah, divorce your wife. So I divorced her.
