حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ
لَا تَمْنَعُوا ( يَعْنِي ) نِسَاءَكُمُ الْمَسَاجِدَ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ بِلَالُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ: وَاللهِ لَنَمْنَعُهُنَّ، فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ حِينَ قَالَ ذَلِكَ فَسَبَّهُ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Do not prevent women from entering the mosques if they seek permission from you to do so." Bilal bin Abdullah replied, "By Allah, we will certainly prevent them." Abdullah approached him at that moment and cursed him.
