✧ I and ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr entered the mosque and found ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar there, so we sat with him. He said: We then saw some men praying al-Ḍuḥā, so we said, “O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, what is this prayer?” He replied, “An innovation.” Then we said to him, “How many ʿumrahs did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform?” He said, “Four, one of them in Rajab.” He said: We were too shy to respond to him. He said: Then we heard the sound of the teeth of the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah, and ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr said to her, “O Mother of the Believers, do you not hear what Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is saying? He says the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed four ʿumrahs, one of them in Rajab.” She said, “May Allah have mercy on Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. He did not perform any ʿumrah except that he (Ibn ʿUmar) was present for it, and he did not perform any ʿumrah in Rajab.”
