حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

صَدَرْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ يَوْمَ الصَّدَرِ، فَمَرَّتْ بِنَا رُفْقَةٌ يَمَانِيَةٌ وَرِحَالُهُمُ الْأَدَمُ وَخُطُمُ إِبِلِهِمُ الْجُرُرُ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى أَشْبَهِ رُفْقَةٍ وَرَدَتِ الْحَجَّ الْعَامَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ إِذْ قَدِمُوا فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذِهِ الرُّفْقَةِ

Translation

✧ On the day of departure from Mina, I departed with Ibn Umar. A Yemeni caravan passed by us, their saddles were of tanned leather and their camel halters were of rope. Abdullah b. Umar said: 'Whoever wishes to look at the caravan most resembling the one that came for Hajj this year with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions when they arrived for the Farewell Pilgrimage, let him look at this caravan.'
