حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ قَالَ
قُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ( أَوْ قَالَ لَهُ غَيْرِي ) مَا لِي أَرَاكَ تَمْشِي وَالنَّاسُ يَسْعَوْنَ ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنْ أَمْشِ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي، وَإِنْ أَسْعَى فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْعَى وَأَنَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
Translation

✧ I said: 'O Abu Abd al-Rahman' (or someone else said to him), 'Why do I see you walking while the people are running?' He said: 'If I walk, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walking; and if I run, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ running. And I am an old man.'
