✧ I said to Abdullah b. Umar: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, I have seen you do four things that I have not seen any of your companions do. He said: What are they, O Ibn Jurayj? He said: I saw you touching only the two Yamani corners, and I saw you wearing Sibti sandals, and I saw you dyeing with yellow, and I saw you when you were in Makkah: the people entered ihram when they saw the new moon, but you did not enter ihram until the Day of Tarwiyah. Abdullah said: As for the corners, I did not see the Messenger of God ﷺ touch anything except the two Yamani corners. As for the sandals, I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ wearing sandals with no hair on them, and performing ablution while wearing them, and I like to wear them. As for the yellow dye, I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ dye with it, and I like to dye with it. As for entering ihram, I did not see the Messenger of God ﷺ enter ihram until his mount set off with him.
