حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ قَالَبَيْنَمَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ عَرَضَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَيْفَ
بَيْنَمَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ [عَرَضَ لَهُ] رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي النَّجْوَى ؟ قَالَ: يَدْنُو الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَأَنَّهُ بَذَجٌ، فَيَضَعُ عَلَيْهِ كَنَفَهُ ( أَيْ يَسْتُرُهُ ) ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: أَتَعْرِفُ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: رَبِّ، أَعْرِفُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: أَتَعْرِفُ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: رَبِّ، أَعْرِفُ يَعْنِي فَيَقُولُ: أَنَا سَتَرْتُهَا عَلَيْكَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَأَنَا أَغْفِرُهَا لَكَ الْيَوْمَ، وَيُعْطَى صَحِيفَةَ حَسَنَاتِهِ. وَأَمَّا الْكُفَّارُ وَالْمُنَافِقُونَ فَيُنَادَى بِهِمْ عَلَى رُؤُوسِ الْأَشْهَادِ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا عَلَى رَبِّهِمْ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ اللهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ. قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: وَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ: فَلَمْ يَخْزَ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَحَدٌ فَخَفِيَ خِزْيُهُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْخَلَائِقِ.

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say about whispered conversations, "On the Day of Resurrection, the believer will draw near to his Lord as if he were a young bird close to his nest. Then, Allah will cover him with His protection and say, 'Do you recognize this?' The person will respond, 'Yes, My Lord, I do recognize.' Allah will repeat this question three times, and every time, the person will respond, 'Yes, My Lord, I do recognize.' Allah will then say, 'I kept it concealed for you in the world, and today I forgive you.' The person will be given their record of good deeds. As for the disbelievers and hypocrites, they will be called out and it will be announced upon the heads of the witnesses, 'These are the ones who lied against their Lord.' How great is Allah's curse on the wrongdoers!" (Surah Hud, 11:18) Sa'id and Qatadah said, "No one on that day will be more ashamed than one who conceals his shame from others."
