✧ That Ibn Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating, so Umar asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he ordered him to take her back, then wait until she menstruated another period, then wait until she became pure, then divorce her before touching her. That is the waiting period for which Allah commanded that women be divorced. And Ibn Umar, when asked about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating, would say: If you divorced her once or twice, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to take her back, then wait until she menstruated another period, then wait until she became pure, then divorce her if he did not want to keep her. But if you divorced her three times, then you have disobeyed Allah, Exalted is He, in what He commanded you regarding divorcing your wife, and she is separated from you, and you are separated from her.
