حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فَأَعْطَاهَا عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لِيَحْمِلَ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلًا، فَأُخْبِرَ عُمَرُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ وَقَفَهَا يَبِيعُهَا، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَبْتَاعُهَا ؟ قَالَ: لَا تَبْتَعْهَا، وَلَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ.

✧ Umar donated a horse, and Umar gave it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to mount a man on it. Then Umar was informed that he had dedicated it for sale. He said: He asked the Prophet ﷺ about that, should he buy it? He said: Do not buy it, and do not take back your sadaqah.
