قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ قَالَ
كَانَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ وَبِالنَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ جَهْدٌ، قَالَ: فَمَرَّ بِنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فَنَهَانَا عَنِ الْإِقْرَانِ، وَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْإِقْرَانِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ.

✧ Ibn al-Zubayr used to provide us with dates while the people were in hardship then. He said: Abdullah b. Umar passed by us and forbade us from pairing dates, and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade pairing dates unless a man seeks permission from his brother.
