حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ: وَهِلَ - تَعْنِي: ابْنَ عُمَرَ -، إِنَّمَا مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَبْرٍ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ صَاحِبَ هَذَا لَيُعَذَّبُ وَأَهْلُهُ يَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: وَلا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
Translation

✧ The deceased is punished by the weeping of his family over him. This was mentioned to Aisha, and she said: Ibn Umar erred. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ merely passed by a grave and said: The occupant of this grave is being punished while his family weep over him. Then she recited this verse: No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another.
