حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ

كَانَ يَرْمُلُ ثَلَاثًا وَيَمْشِي أَرْبَعًا، وَيَزْعُمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ. وَكَانَ يَمْشِي مَا بَيْنَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَمْشِي مَا بَيْنَهُمَا لِيَكُونَ أَيْسَرَ لِاسْتِلَامِهِ.

Translation

  4. Ibn ʿUmar

✧ He used to walk briskly for three [circuits] and walk normally for four, and he asserted that the Messenger of God ﷺ used to do that. And he used to walk between the two corners. He said: He only walked between them to make it easier to touch them.
