حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ غَيْلَانَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ أَسْلَمَ وَتَحْتَهُ عَشْرُ

أَنَّ غَيْلَانَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ أَسْلَمَ وَتَحْتَهُ عَشْرُ نِسْوَةٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: اخْتَرْ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا.

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Ismāʿīl
  2. Maʿmar
  3. al-Zuhrī
  4. Sālim
  5. his father
  6. Ghaylān b. Salamah al-Thaqafī Aslam And Taḥtah ʿAshr

✧ That Ghaylan b. Salamah al-Thaqafi embraced Islam while he had ten wives under him, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him: "Choose four of them."
