✧ Ibn Umar divorced his wife once while she was menstruating. Umar asked the Prophet ﷺ, who ordered him to take her back, then give her time until she menstruates another period, then give her time until she becomes pure, then divorce her before touching her. He said: "And that is the waiting period in which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has commanded women to be divorced." Ibn Umar, when asked about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating, would say: "As for me, I divorced her once or twice, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to take her back, then give her time until she menstruates another period, then give her time until she becomes pure, then divorce her before touching her. But as for you, if you divorced her three times, you have disobeyed Allah in what He commanded you regarding divorcing your wife, and she has become separated from you."
