Translation

✧ We went to 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud one day after the dawn prayer, and we greeted at the door, and he permitted us. A man from the group said: 'I recited all the Mufassal last night.' He said: 'This is hasty recitation like the recitation of poetry. We have heard the recitation, and I indeed know the pairs which the Messenger of God ﷺ used to recite: eighteen surahs from the Mufassal and two surahs from Alif-Lam-Mim Ha-Mim.'
