✧ "May Allah curse the tattooed women, the pluckers (of eyebrows), the mutilators, and those who modify the creation of Allah. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Will I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah has cursed?' A woman from the tribe of Bani Asad said, 'I think he is among my relatives.' He said to her, 'Go and look.' So she went and looked, and she did not see anything in them or in him (indicating her relatives). She said, 'I did not see anything in them or in him in the Qur'an.' He said, 'Indeed, I said it: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said it.'"

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, from the Prophet ﷺ: "May Allah curse the women who tattoo." He said: Al-Aʿmash and Manṣūr narrate it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Jarīr b. Ḥāzim narrated it from al-Aʿmash with a connected chain, and Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. al-Faḍl al-Rāsibī corroborated him, from al-Firyābī, from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash. Others narrate it from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAbdullāh. As for Manṣūr, there is no disagreement about him: he narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir differed from him and narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from Umm Yaʿqūb al-Asadiyyah, from ʿAbdullāh. The correct version is what Manṣūr said.
