✧ Subayʿah bt. al-Ḥārith gave birth after her husband's death by fifteen nights. Abū al-Sanābil entered upon her and said: It seems you are thinking of marriage. You cannot do that until the longer of the two terms has elapsed. She went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him what Abū al-Sanābil had said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Abū al-Sanābil lied. If someone comes to you whom you approve of, bring him to me (or he said: inform me).' He told her that her waiting period had ended.
