حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ

شَهِدْتُ عَلِيًّا، وَعُثْمَانَ فِي يَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ، وَالنَّحْرِ يُصَلِّيَانِ، ثُمَّ يَنْصَرِفَانِ، فَيُذَكِّرَانِ النَّاسَ، فَسَمِعْتُهُمَا يَقُولَانِ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَوْمِ هَذَيْنِ الْيَوْمَيْنِ.

Translation

✧ I witnessed Ali and Uthman on the day of al-Fitr and al-Nahr praying, then turning away and reminding the people, and I heard them say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on these two days.
