✧ I came upon Abu Jahl on the day of Badr, and his leg had been struck (while he was prostrate, fending people off with a sword of his). So I said: Praise be to Allah who has disgraced you, O enemy of Allah! He said: Is it anything but a man whose people have killed him? He said: So I began to strike at him with a sword of mine that was worthless, and I hit his hand, so his sword flew off. I took it and struck him with it until I killed him. He said: Then I left until I came to the Prophet ﷺ as if I were being lifted from the ground, and I informed him. He said: By Allah, besides whom there is no god? He repeated it three times. He said: I said: By Allah, besides whom there is no god! He said: Then he went out walking with me until he stood over him and said: Praise be to Allah who has disgraced you, O enemy of Allah! This was the Pharaoh of this nation.
