✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: ‘Recite the Qur’an to me.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, how can I recite to you when it was revealed to you?’ He said, ‘I desire to hear it from someone other than myself.’ I began Sūrat al-Nisā’ and recited to him. When I reached, ‘So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and We bring you against these as a witness?’ I looked at him and his eyes were flowing with tears.
