حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مَنِ اشْتَرَى مُحَفَّلَةً وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ

مَنِ اشْتَرَى مُحَفَّلَةً - وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ: شَاةً مُحَفَّلَةً - فَلْيَرُدَّهَا، وَلْيَرُدَّ مَعَهَا صَاعًا. وَنَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ تَلَقِّي الْبُيُوعِ.

✧ Whoever buys a sheep whose udder has been tied up to make it appear full of milk – or sometimes he said: a sheep that has been left unmilked – may return it and return a saʿ along with it. And the Prophet ﷺ forbade meeting caravans to buy from them.
