حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَتَنَاجَ اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا؛ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْزِنُهُ.

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Abū Muʿāwiyah
  2. al-Aʿmash
  3. Shaqīq
  4. ʿAbdullāh
  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ If you are three, then two should not converse privately to the exclusion of their companion, for that grieves him.
