حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
قَالَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ: اللَّهُمَّ مَتِّعْنِي بِزَوْجِي رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَبِأَبِي أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، وَبِأَخِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّكِ سَأَلْتِ اللهَ لِآجَالٍ مَضْرُوبَةٍ، وَأَرْزَاقٍ مَقْسُومَةٍ، وَآثَارٍ مَبْلُوغَةٍ، لَا يُعَجَّلُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ قَبْلَ حِلِّهِ، وَلَا يُؤَخَّرُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ بَعْدَ حِلِّهِ، وَلَوْ سَأَلْتِ اللهَ أَنْ يُعَافِيَكِ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ، وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَكِ قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْقِرَدَةُ وَالْخَنَازِيرُ هِيَ مِمَّا مُسِخَ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَمْ يَمْسَخِ اللهُ قَوْمًا، أَوْ يُهْلِكْ قَوْمًا، فَيَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ نَسْلًا وَلَا عَاقِبَةً، وَإِنَّ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ قَدْ كَانَتْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ.

✧ Umm Habibah said: 'O Allah, let me enjoy my husband, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and my father Abu Sufyan, and my brother Mu'awiyah.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'You have asked Allah for fixed terms, apportioned provisions, and traced out ends. None of it is hastened before its time, nor delayed after its time. Had you asked Allah to protect you from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave, it would have been better for you.' A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, are monkeys and pigs from those who were transformed?' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah has not transformed a people, or destroyed a people, and then made for them offspring or descendants. Monkeys and pigs existed before that.'

يرويه علقمة بن مرثد واختلف عنه فرواه أبو خالد الدالاني يزيد بن عبد الرحمن والثوري ومسعر بن كدام عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المغيرة بن عبد الله اليشكري عن المعرور بن سويد عن عبد الله وخالفهم عبد الرحمن المسعودي ورواه عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المستورد بن الأحنف عن ابن مسعود ووهم فيه والصواب قول أبي خالد الدالاني ومن تابعه
machine translationʿAlqamah b. Marthad narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Abū Khālid al-Dālānī Yazīd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, al-Thawrī and Misʿar b. Kidām narrated it from ʿAlqamah b. Marthad, from al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbdullāh al-Yashkurī, from al-Maʿrūr b. Suwayd, from ʿAbdullāh. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Masʿūdī differed from them and narrated it from ʿAlqamah b. Marthad, from al-Mustawrid b. al-Aḥnaf, from Ibn Masʿūd, and he was mistaken in it (wahima). The correct version is the statement of Abū Khālid al-Dālānī and those who followed him.
