حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعُودُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَتَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَدَقَةِ الْبَقَرِ إِذَا بَلَغَ الْبَقَرُ ثَلَاثِينَ فِيهَا تَبِيعٌ مِنَ الْبَقَرِ جَذَعٌ، أَوْ جَذَعَةٌ حَتَّى تَبْلُغَ أَرْبَعِينَ، فَإِذَا بَلَغَتْ أَرْبَعِينَ فَفِيهَا بَقَرَةٌ مُسِنَّةٌ، فَإِذَا كَثُرَتِ الْبَقَرُ فَفِي كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ مِنَ الْبَقَرِ بَقَرَةٌ مُسِنَّةٌ.

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote regarding the zakāh on cattle: When cattle reach thirty, there is due a year-old male or female calf (tabī‘), until they reach forty. When they reach forty, there is due a musinnah (a cow in its third year). When the cattle are many, then for every forty cattle there is due a musinnah.
