حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ
كَيْفَ بِكَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يُضَيِّعُونَ السُّنَّةَ، وَيُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ مِيقَاتِهَا؟ قَالَ: كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: تَسْأَلُنِي ابْنَ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ كَيْفَ تَفْعَلُ لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.

✧ "How will it be with you, O 'Abdullah, when you have rulers who neglect the Sunnah and delay the prayer beyond its proper time?" He said: "What do you command me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "You ask me, son of Umm 'Abd, what you should do? There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
