✧ The first to openly proclaim Islam were seven: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, Ammar, his mother Sumayya, Suhayb, Bilal, and al-Miqdad. As for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah protected him through his uncle Abu Talib. As for Abu Bakr, Allah protected him through his people. As for the rest, the polytheists seized them and clad them in iron armor and exposed them to the scorching sun. There was not one of them who did not yield to what they wanted except Bilal, for he held his soul cheap for Allah's sake, and he became cheap to his people, so they gave him to the children, and they took him around the mountain paths of Makkah while he said: 'One, One.'
