✧ Ibn al-Nawwāḥah and Ibn Uthāl came as messengers of Musaylimah to the Prophet ﷺ. He said to them, “Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?” They said, “We bear witness that Musaylimah is the Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “I believe in Allah and His messengers. Were I to kill a messenger, I would kill you two.” ‘Abd Allah said: He said: The sunnah has passed that messengers are not killed.

machine translationʿĀṣim b. Abī al-Najūd narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Al-Thawrī, al-Masʿūdī and Sallām Abū al-Mundhir narrated it from ʿĀṣim, from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. Abū Bakr b. ʿAyyāsh differed from them, and narrated it from ʿĀṣim, from Abū Wāʾil, from Abū Muʿayr al-Saʿdī, from Ibn Masʿūd. Haytham al-Dūrī related this report from a shaykh of his, from Abū ʿĀṣim, from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Wāʾil, and that is an error (wahm); the correct version is from al-Thawrī, from ʿĀṣim.
