حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
لَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَصْدُقُ، وَيَتَحَرَّى الصِّدْقَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ صِدِّيقًا، وَلَا يَزَالُ يَكْذِبُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ كَذَّابًا.
Translation

✧ A man does not cease to be truthful and to strive for truthfulness until he is recorded as a siddiq (a veracious one). And he does not cease to lie and to strive for lying until he is recorded as a liar.
