حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

مَا نَسِيتُ فِيمَا نَسِيتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ - حَتَّى يُرَى أَوْ نَرَى - بَيَاضَ خَدَّيْهِ.

Translation

✧ Among what I have not forgotten, I have not forgotten that the Messenger of God ﷺ used to offer the greeting of peace to his right and to his left: ‘Peace be upon you and the mercy of God; peace be upon you and the mercy of God,’ until the whiteness of his cheeks could be seen, or we could see it.
