حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِكْرِمَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ {وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ} [الإسراء 60] قَالَ
كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: شَيْءٌ أُرِيَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ، رَآهُ بِعَيْنِهِ حِينَ ذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ

✧ Ibn Abbas used to say: “And We did not make the vision which We showed you except as a trial for mankind” (17:60). He said: It was something the Prophet ﷺ was shown while awake; he saw it with his own eyes when he was taken to the Bayt al-Maqdis.
