حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعُرَنِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَدَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أُغَيْلِمَةَ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَلَى حُمُرَاتِنَا لَيْلَةَ الْمُزْدَلِفَةِ، فَجَعَلَ يَلْطَحُ أَفْخَاذَنَا، وَيَقُولُ: أُبَيْنِيَّ، لَا تَرْمُوا الْجَمْرَةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ. قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَا إِخَالُ أَحَدًا يَرْمِي حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us, the young boys of Banu Abd al-Muttalib, on our donkeys on the night of Muzdalifah, and he began patting our thighs and saying: “O my little sons, do not stone the Jamrah until the sun rises.” Ibn Abbas said: “I do not think anyone stoned until the sun rose.”
