حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ، فَجَعَلَ يُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حُكْمًا

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ encountered a man who started praising him, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, there is magic in eloquence and there is wisdom in poetry."
