✧ A sheep belonging to Sawdah bint Zam'ah died, and she said: 'O Messenger of Allah, such-and-such has died' – meaning the sheep. He said: 'Why did you not take its skin?' She said: 'Should we take the skin of a sheep that has died?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: 'Allah, Mighty and Majestic, only said: "I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to an eater who eats it except that it be carrion, or flowing blood, or the flesh of swine." You are not eating it; if you tan it, you can benefit from it.' So she sent for it, and had its skin flayed, tanned it, and made it into a water skin, until it wore out with her.
