حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَبُوهُ قَالَ

نَزَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ أَيُّوبَ الَّذِينَ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَزَلْتُ عَلَيْهَا، فَحَدَّثَتْنِي بِهَذَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، أَنَّهُمْ تَكَلَّفُوا طَعَامًا فِيهِ بَعْضُ هَذِهِ الْبُقُولِ فَقَرَّبُوهُ، فَكَرِهَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: كُلُوا إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ، إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ أُؤْذِيَ صَاحِبِي - يَعْنِي الْمَلَكَ -.

Translation

✧ I stayed with Umm Ayyub, with whom the Messenger of God ﷺ stayed. I stayed with her, and she narrated this to me from the Messenger of God ﷺ: they prepared food containing some of these vegetables and served it. The Messenger of God ﷺ disliked it and said to his companions: "Eat, for I am not like any one of you. I fear lest I harm my companion," meaning the angel.
